National Craft and Design Fair 2014

The week I become a Dubliner is a much anticipated focus for the holiday season in the RDS (Royal Dublin Society)

The show was officially opened by TD Gerald Nash he came to visit my stand along with Karen Hennesy the CEO of the Design and Craft Council of Ireland. Gerald is a great supporter of the crafts and have purchased some special wedding gifts for friends from me before.

I was delighted to have my little trees selected as part of the curated display by the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland

I spent the week discouraging hungry folk from eating the display cheese and directing the ravenous to the food hall

Of course I got to hang out with my amazing crafty pals – including Jeweller Fiona Kerr who was delighted to see her ring on the billboard above the door

Sarah McKenna

Sarah McKenna has been developing her unique handmade Irish pottery at Bridge Street Studios since 1999. Before returning to Dundalk she studied Ceramics at Duncan of Jordonstone College of Art & Design, the University of Dundee, Scotland where she gained a Bachelor of Ceramic Design.

Sarah’s work has always been engaged in the process and the early studio work was concerned with smoke firing and raku firing sculptural vessel forms. In 2006 Sarah started producing a range of quirky customisable ceramics giftware which is the beginning of what you can purchase today. Read more here.
