In November I took part in what I now call the Champagne of Craft Fairs in the Glucksman Gallery in Cork city, this was also my very first time in the “Real Capital” of the peoples republic.
The moment I arrived in the grounds of award winning Gallery the staff started to unload the contents of my car and in a jiffy they had it all deposited into my designated space on the 3rd floor of the gallery. I slipped off to park my car.
Thanks to the amazing packing job my assistant Natasha did I had the display completed without too much fuss and a handsome young fine art student came along and hung all my frames on the wall – I was feeling extremely pampered!
So I took myself off to get my hair done and prepared to meet the good people of Cork
stress free
Candles in the Gallery
the display including some images of me doing the work – just in case with all the pampering and hairdos you don’t believe me!
the amazing architecture and a beautiful blue sky day
Lots to see and do in Cork
I totally understand why people call Cork the real capital – it’s small enough to get around, it still feels very cosmopolitan and Irish. While in Cork I met some fab crafts people who I tagged along to some very nice foodie spots that I would recommend if you get to Cork.
The Fish Bar in the Electric with full height windows over looking the river, tapas style fish dishes it was super yummy and relaxed. Also the super cool and trendy Coqbul which you can have savage meal surrounded by wacky farm influenced furniture.
My new felty friend Niki Collier and Desert in Coqbul was awesome
I honestly did do some work while in Cork but it really was a joy
